EV charging
EV charging records and costs for mixed fleets
In Fleet Hero, the fleet management app of Office Hero, log every charging session with its energy, price, charger type and state of charge, and see what each electric vehicle costs to charge. Electric and hybrid vehicles sit in the same app as the rest of the fleet, with the same service, insurance and reports.
Part of the Professional and Business packages of Fleet Hero.
How it works
Charging data you can work with
A session is logged once and feeds the charging history, the per-vehicle report and the costs.
Charging sessions
Log each charging session with what it cost
For each session, record the vehicle, the start and end time, the energy delivered in kWh, the price per kWh, the total and its currency. Add the charger type, the state of charge before and after, and the station.
- Charger types: AC, DC fast and DC ultra-fast, plus Level 1 and Level 2
- State of charge before and after, as a percentage
- Notes for anything unusual, such as an interrupted session
Charging per vehicle
What each electric vehicle costs to charge
The charging per vehicle report adds up the sessions, the kWh and the charging cost of every EV for the period you choose, such as last month or this quarter. Export it as PDF, Excel or CSV, send it to colleagues or schedule it.
- Periods from today to this year, recalculated at each run, or fixed dates
- Up to 10 colleagues per e-mail, in any of the 15 interface languages
- Costs are summed without currency conversion, so the totals assume one currency
Range check
Check a trip against the battery before it starts
Enter the vehicle's WLTP range, its battery level and the outside temperature, choose flat, mixed or hilly terrain, and the range estimator works out how far the vehicle can go. Add a distance and it tells you whether the vehicle can make it, with a 20% safety margin.
- Cold weather and hilly roads bring the estimate down
- A planning aid based on the figures you enter, not a reading from the car
Mixed fleets
Electric vans next to diesel trucks
Electric and hybrid vehicles are part of the same registry, each with its fuel type. They get the same work orders, insurance, renewal reminders, alerts and reports as the rest of the fleet, and with a GPS tracker they appear on the live map.
- One vehicle list for the whole fleet, whatever the fuel type
- Charging and fuel histories side by side in the same app
Also included
Small things that keep EV costs clear
Charging counters
Total spend, total energy and the average price per kWh for the sessions listed.
Search and filters
Search the sessions by station and filter them by charger type.
Costs kept per currency
In the charging history, sessions paid in different currencies are never added together under one currency sign.
Charging providers as vendors
Keep the charging providers you use, with their contacts, next to your garages and suppliers.
Service and renewals for EVs
Work orders, insurance, registrations and reminders work for electric vehicles as for any other vehicle.
The charging report by e-mail
Schedule the charging per vehicle report to reach colleagues every week or month.

Does Fleet Hero read charging sessions from the car or the charging network?
No. Sessions are logged in Fleet Hero, with the energy, price and state of charge taken from the charger or the receipt. They are not imported from charging networks.
Does Fleet Hero find charging stations?
No. Record the station with each session, and keep the charging providers you use in the vendor list.
Can we see fuel and charging costs together?
They are kept apart, each with its own history and report: fill-ups in the fuel history, sessions in the charging history. Both are in the same app, so a mixed fleet is managed in one place.
How does the range estimator work?
It scales the vehicle's WLTP range by the battery level, the outside temperature and the terrain. The answer is an estimate from the figures you enter, not a live reading from the car.
Can we record plug-in hybrids?
Yes. A plug-in hybrid can have fill-ups in the fuel history and sessions in the charging history.
Which package includes EV charging data?
EV charging data is part of the Professional package, at €14.80 per vehicle per month, and of Business. Both include the SIM and mobile data.
