HR Hero · Time and attendance
Time and attendance from clock-in to approved timesheet
Employees clock in and out, and take their breaks, from any browser, and the HR dashboard shows how many people have clocked in today. Weekly timesheets are checked against the working-time rules of North Macedonia, Albania, Germany or the United Kingdom, then go to the manager for approval.
Part of HR Hero Essentials, from €2.90 per employee per month, excluding VAT.
01How it works
From the first clock-in to the approved week
Clock in and out
Clock in from any browser
Employees clock in and out in Office Hero Connect, and start and end an unpaid break, from a computer or a phone browser. The page shows whether they are working, on a break or off, and since when.
- One button to clock in, one to clock out
- Unpaid breaks started and ended separately
- Today's clock-ins counted on the HR dashboard
Timesheets
A weekly timesheet that locks when it is sent
Employees who sign in to HR Hero keep a timesheet for each week: the start, end and break of every day, with the hours calculated and a note where needed. When the week is done, they submit it for approval, and once it passes the working-time check the period is locked against further edits.
- Hours calculated from the start, end and break
- Night shifts that cross midnight counted in full
- Buttons for the previous and the next week
Approvals
One queue for the manager
Managers see the timesheets waiting for them with the employee, the period and the hours, and approve or reject each one. The approval queue sits on a tab next to their own week.
- Employee, period, hours and status in one row
- Approve or reject with one click
- Who approved a week, and when, kept with the timesheet
Working-time rules
Working-time checks before a week is accepted
When a timesheet is submitted, HR Hero checks the week against the rules for the employee's work country: maximum daily hours, rest between shifts, the hours worked in the week and a break after six hours. A breach blocks the submission unless the employee has a waiver for that rule. Rule packs exist for North Macedonia, Albania, Germany and the United Kingdom only.
- A register of breaches with rule, country, severity and period
- Warnings kept on record without blocking
- Waivers for a fixed window, revoked with a notice period

Where timesheets can be submitted today
Submitting a timesheet runs the working-time check for the employee's work country, and rule packs exist for North Macedonia, Albania, Germany and the United Kingdom. For employees who work in other countries, timesheets cannot be submitted, so please contact us first. Clock-ins, shifts and leave work in every country.
04Step by step
How a timesheet week works
-
Step 1 Log each day
Enter the start, end and break for every day you worked.
-
Step 2 Submit the week
Send the week for approval.
-
Step 3 Rules are checked
HR Hero checks the week against your country's working-time rules. A breach without a waiver stops the submission; otherwise the week locks.

05Questions
Questions about time and attendance
Not answered here? Write to [email protected]. A person from our team in Skopje replies, Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00 CET.
Can employees clock in from their phone?
Yes, in the phone's browser: Office Hero Connect works on any phone at connect.officehero.io. The Office Hero Connect and Office Hero Manager phone apps are in testing and coming soon.
Can we limit clock-in to the workplace?
No. Clock-ins are not restricted to a place or an area, so employees can clock in wherever they are signed in.
Do clock-ins fill in the timesheet?
No. Clock-ins record attendance, and the timesheet is logged separately, day by day, with the start, end and break that the working-time check uses.
Who keeps a timesheet?
Anyone who signs in to HR Hero with an account linked to their employee record, for example with the Employee role. Employees who only use Office Hero Connect clock in and out there, but do not keep a timesheet.
Which working-time rules does HR Hero check?
HR Hero checks maximum daily hours, minimum rest between shifts, the hours worked in the submitted week and a break after six hours of work. Weekly rest and yearly overtime are not checked. The checks help you spot breaches; they are not legal advice.
What happens when a week breaks a rule?
If the rule is set as a breach, the submission is refused and the breach goes into the violations register. HR can create a waiver for that rule, such as a 48-hour opt-out where the law allows it, for a fixed window, and the employee submits again. Warnings are recorded without blocking.
Which package includes time and attendance?
Clock-ins, timesheets, approvals and working-time checks are part of HR Hero Essentials, from €2.90 per employee per month excluding VAT, and of HR Hero Professional.
