02In detail
How HR Hero handles the daily work
Four parts of HR Hero and the screens your team uses.
Employee records
One record per person, shared across Office Hero
Each employee has one profile with their contracts, documents, manager and status. Mark someone as a professional driver and the same person appears in Fleet Hero. When an employment ends, HR Hero records the date and reason and removes the person's portal access automatically.
- Departments with codes and heads, and positions linked to salary bands
- An org chart where you reassign a manager in place
- National ID, address and bank account encrypted with your company's own key
Time and attendance
Clock-ins, timesheets and approvals
Employees clock in and out, and take breaks, from any browser, and the HR dashboard shows how many people have clocked in today. Weekly timesheets lock when they are sent to the manager, who approves or rejects them from one queue.
- Start, end and break for each day, with the hours calculated
- Night shifts that cross midnight counted in full
- Waivers, such as a 48-hour opt-out where the law allows it, for a fixed period
Recruitment and onboarding
From the job opening to the first day
Open a role with its headcount and budget, and move candidates along a board from applied to hired. Each interview round gets an outcome, a rating and feedback, and HR Hero summarises the rounds for each candidate. An onboarding case then turns your template into a task list.
- Five interview formats, from a phone call to a panel
- Dissent flags when interview rounds disagree
- A checklist the new starter ticks off in Office Hero Connect
EU compliance
Whistleblowing and pay transparency, built in
Anyone can report a concern on your public reporting page, anonymously and without an account, and your handlers work each case in HR Hero. For Directive (EU) 2023/970, HR Hero calculates the gender pay gap, opens a joint pay assessment when the gap is above 5% and builds the annual PDF report.
- Report contents encrypted, and every case action in a hash-chained audit log
- Mean and median gap, pay quartiles and a 95% confidence interval
- Evidence packs when a regulator asks for proof
Pay-transparency figures come from pay runs in HR Hero, which today cover employees in North Macedonia, Albania and the United Kingdom only.

What does HR Hero do?
HR Hero keeps employee records, contracts and documents, records clock-ins and timesheets, plans shifts and manages leave. It also covers recruitment, onboarding, reviews and training, and the EU whistleblowing and pay transparency directives.
Who is HR Hero for?
Small and mid-sized employers, including groups of several companies. It suits companies with field staff, and transport companies in particular, because a driver in Fleet Hero is the same person as the employee in HR Hero.
Which countries can we use HR Hero in?
Records, leave, shifts, clock-ins, recruitment and onboarding work in any country; you add each country's public holidays yourself. Timesheets can be submitted for employees in North Macedonia, Albania, Germany and the United Kingdom, the countries with a working-time rule pack. For companies in Germany, Austria and France, dismissals cannot be recorded yet, because the works-council approval step is not finished.
How does HR Hero work with Fleet Hero?
Both apps share one employee record. When HR marks an employee as a professional driver, the person appears as a driver in Fleet Hero. One sign-in opens both apps.
Do employees get their own access?
Yes. Office Hero Connect is included with HR Hero. You create an employee's login from their record, by e-mail invitation or with a temporary password, and they sign in at connect.officehero.io from any computer or phone browser.
Where is our HR data kept, and who can see salaries?
The apps run on our servers in Skopje, North Macedonia, outside the EU; files and backups are kept in Cloudflare R2. Each company's data sits in its own database schema, and 9 personal fields, including national ID and bank account, are encrypted with your company's own key. Contracts and salaries are visible only to roles with that permission.
How much does HR Hero cost?
HR Hero Essentials costs €2.90 and HR Hero Professional €4.90 per employee per month, excluding VAT, with 10% off for annual billing. Professional adds recruitment, onboarding, performance, training, whistleblowing and pay transparency.
Which languages does HR Hero support?
15: English, Macedonian, Albanian, Croatian, Bosnian, Slovenian, Serbian in Latin and Cyrillic, Bulgarian, Romanian, German, Italian, Spanish, French and Polish. The translations are machine-made, and native speakers are reviewing them.
