Fleet alerts

Fleet alerts that reach the right people

Choose from 21 built-in alert types, from speeding and geozone exits to low fuel and overdue maintenance. Fleet Hero checks that your trackers send what each type needs, shows who will be notified before you save, and keeps the whole story of every alert.

Alerts in the app and by e-mail come with every package; webhooks come with Business.

Alerts arrive in real time, with their severity.

01How it works

From the right type to the right person

21 alert types

Alert types that match what your trackers send

Every built-in type shows Ready, Waiting for data or Needs setup, based on what your trackers have actually sent, so you can see before you build a rule whether it can fire.

  • Driving: speeding, harsh acceleration, braking and cornering on Teltonika harsh-driving data, idling and the SOS button
  • Location: geozone entry and exit, and movement outside allowed hours
  • Vehicle and tracker: ignition on and off, low fuel, refuel above tank capacity, low tracker battery, power disconnected, sensor threshold and tracker offline
  • Compliance and maintenance: driving hours exceeded and missing break on GPS-estimated counters, maintenance due and overdue
Each type says whether your trackers send the data it needs.

Rule editor

Five steps from an idea to a rule

The editor walks through the alert type, its settings, the vehicles, the hours and the people. Limits are entered within allowed ranges, such as a speed limit between 20 and 250 km/h, and an empty rule list offers popular alerts to start from.

  • Vehicles: all, specific vehicles or an alert group
  • When: always, working hours (Monday to Friday, 08:00–18:00), outside working hours or a custom schedule
  • Advanced timing: ignore repeats for a set time, and a quiet period after each alert
  • Pause, resume and duplicate rules; the list warns about rules with nobody to notify
Type, settings, vehicles, when, and who is told.

Who will be notified

See who will be told before you save

The last step lists who will be notified, on which channel, and who will be skipped and why, for example a person who sees only some vehicles. 'Send test' then delivers a test to them the way a real alert would go, without creating an alert.

  • If you name nobody, everyone who can see alerts is notified, and the editor says so
  • Extra e-mail addresses are accepted for colleagues only
  • Each person receives the alert in their own language
Nobody is surprised by who gets an alert.

Alert inbox

One inbox, and the whole story of each alert

Alerts arrive in real time, in tabs for unacknowledged, critical, high, warnings and info. Each alert has a timeline from raised to resolved, the place on the live map and a list of who was notified on which channel, with the delivery status.

  • Acknowledge or resolve each alert with a note, or acknowledge many at once
  • Filters by status, severity, type, vehicle, driver and period
  • Raise an alert by hand when someone calls in a problem
Raised, notified, acknowledged, escalated, resolved.

02Channels and connections

How alerts reach people and systems

  • In-app notifications

The bell and the alerts page in Fleet Hero, updated in real time.

  • E-mail to colleagues

An e-mail to each person in your company, written in their own language.

  • Silence windows

Keep a rule quiet during planned work; the alerts it holds back are still recorded.

  • Your own alert types

AND and OR conditions on speed, ignition, fuel, voltages, digital inputs or any Teltonika sensor.

  • Alert groups

Group vehicles and vehicle groups to scope rules, with parent groups and a view of the rules that apply.

  • SMS alerts

Alerts as text messages to each person's mobile number.

Before you set up alerts

Each alert type needs the matching data from the tracker: harsh-driving alerts, for example, need a Teltonika tracker that reports harsh-driving events. Driving-hours and missing-break alerts run on counters estimated from ignition and speed, not on tachograph files. E-mail goes to colleagues only; text messages and phone notifications are not available yet.

04Questions

Questions about fleet alerts

Not answered here? Write to [email protected]. A person from our team in Skopje replies, Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00 CET.

How are alerts delivered?

Through the bell and the alerts page in Fleet Hero, and by e-mail to colleagues. In the Business package, also as signed webhooks to your own systems. Phone notifications come with Office Hero Manager, which is coming soon.

Can alerts go to our customers?

Not for now. Alert e-mails go only to people in your company. To keep a customer informed about a delivery, send them a live location link instead.

Why does an alert type say 'Waiting for data'?

Your trackers have not yet sent the reading that type needs, such as harsh-driving events or a fuel level. Check the tracker and its settings with us before you rely on that type.

Can we set our own speed limit?

Yes. The speeding alert uses the limit you set, from 20 to 250 km/h, and can wait until the limit has been exceeded for up to 300 seconds. It compares the vehicle's speed with your limit, not with the posted limit of each road.

Will minor alerts wake us at night?

Not with company quiet hours, which we set up with you: alerts of medium severity and below then stay in the inbox without e-mails, while high and critical alerts are still sent.

What stops a flood of alerts?

A condition that continues is one alert, not one per position, and many types close themselves when the condition clears. Each person gets at most 20 e-mails per rule per hour, while the inbox keeps every alert.

How do we know a rule works before a real event?

Use 'Send test' in the editor. It goes to the rule's people on its channels the way a real alert would, without creating one, and shows the result for each recipient.

How do webhooks work?

Add an endpoint in the settings and pick it in the rule; Fleet Hero then sends a signed POST for each alert, so your server can check that it came from Office Hero. Failed deliveries are tried again, up to 5 attempts. Webhooks are part of the Business package.
